The following, which was moved to the bottom of the calendar (page                                  
3582), was read the third time:                                                                     
                                                                                                    
    HOUSE CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 310(FIN)                                                           
    "An Act relating to the employment of prisoners; and providing                                  
    for an effective date."                                                                         
                                                                                                    
Representative Gardner moved and asked unanimous consent that                                       
HCS SB 310(FIN) be returned to second reading for the specific                                      
purpose of considering Amendment No. 1.  There being no objection,                                  
it was so ordered.                                                                                  
                                                                                                    
Amendment No. 1 was offered  by Representatives Gardner and                                          
Samuels:                                                                                            
                                                                                                    
Page 3, line 14, following "services":                                                          
 Insert ". A contract with an individual or private organization                                
must require payment to the commissioner of at least the                                        
minimum wage required by AS 23.10.065 for each hour worked by                                   
a prisoner. The wage required under the contract, multiplied by                                 
the total hours worked by inmates, must be paid weekly, or for                                  
another period as required by the contract"

Representative Gardner moved and asked unanimous consent that                                       
Amendment No. 1 be adopted.                                                                         
                                                                                                    
Objection was heard and withdrawn.  There being no further objection,                               
Amendment No. 1 was adopted.
